NPM annual report into UK detention published

The National Preventative Mechanism (NPM) which includes CJI, published its fifth annual report for the prevention of torture and ill-treatment in detention this month. View report page

The report which was made public on 4 December 2014 gives an overview of the work undertaken by the 20 independent bodies with powers to inspect regularly all places of detention, including prisons, police custody, court cells, customs custody facilities, children’s secure accommodation, immigration, military and mental health facilities.
