CJI Deputy Chief Inspector James Corrigan and Dr Ian Cameron from CJI have met with the Rt. Hon. Dame Elish Angiolini DBE QC, Ian Kernohan and Paul Allen from the Independent Review of Complaints Handling, Investigations and Misconduct Issues in Relation to Policing in Scotland.

During the meeting Dame Elish and her team sought the view of CJI around how police complaints, investigations and misconduct issues are dealt with in Northern Ireland to better understand how these issues are dealt with in other jurisdictions

“We were delighted to meet with Dame Elish and her team and discuss the arrangements we have in Northern Ireland. We hope our independent view will be of benefit to the Review Team as they prepare to publish their final report later this year,” said James Corrigan.

During her visit to Belfast Dame Elish and her team also met with representatives of the PSNI and the Police Ombudsman’s Office.
