A new report on Magilligan Prison published today (12 December 2017) has highlighted the positive work ongoing around prisoner rehabilitation and has described the progress made at the facility since it was last inspected as ‘immensely encouraging’.

Criminal Justice Inspection Northern Ireland (CJI) has published the findings of its latest inspection of how hate crime is dealt with by the criminal justice system in Northern Ireland and the continuing challenges being faced by victims.

Inspectors have called for further work to be done by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to maximise existing partnerships with the business community and further enhance its response to business crime.

The Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland has today (10 October 2017) published an independent assessment of work undertaken by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) to address the recommendations made by Sir Keir Starmer, KCB QC in his 2015 report.
