An inspection of how the Legal Services Agency Northern Ireland (LSANI) administers criminal Legal Aid payments to solicitors and barristers has found the introduction of new information technology has improved how payments are made and reduced running costs.
 

The Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland, Jacqui Durkin’s current term of office has been extended for a further two years.  The announcement was made by the Minister of Justice Naomi Long MLA earlier today.
 

Criminal Justice Inspection Northern Ireland (CJI) has published its annual Business Plan and Inspection Programme for 2022-23 outlining the work the Inspectorate intends to undertake during the financial year.
