Graduates learn about accountability in the criminal justice system

Dr Michael Maguire has today spoken with students of the University of Ulster’s Graduate School of Professional Legal Education at Magee Campus about accountability within the criminal justice system.

Dr Maguire was invited to speak to the students by course director Paul Mageean.  During his speech, CJI’s Chief Inspector addressed the issues which included political accountability, audit accountability, management accountability.  He also spoke of the complaints mechanisms which are in place within Northern Ireland and CJI’s role in the oversight and scrutiny of the criminal justice system.
