CJI welcomes latest independent report on Northern Ireland Prison Service

CJI’s Chief Inspector Dr Michael Maguire has welcomed the findings and new direction for the Northern Ireland Prison Service advocated by Dame Anne Owers and her Review Team in their interim report which was published today.

“The interim report by the Review Team makes recommendations that will help shape change in these important areas such as reducing costs, improving management processes and leadership, strengthening governance and accountability and modernising staffing and working practices,” said Dr Maguire.
