What are our aims?

Our aim is to promote the effectiveness, efficiency and even-handedness of the criminal justice system in Northern Ireland.

Secure improvement and greater co-operation between statutory, voluntary and community organisations, contributing to the criminal justice system.

Promote public confidence in the criminal justice system.

Engage with stakeholders through regular communication.

Partner with other Inspectorates and experts when required to deliver a quality inspection process and report.

Work collaboratively with inspected organisations and agencies while maintaining our independence and impartiality to secure improvement.
