The report welcomes the renewed focus Inspectors found within FSNI towards on delivering an effective forensic science service and the work it has undertaken to expand the range of forensic science disciplines accredited under UKAS – the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.  It has also supported the steps taken by the Agency to work in partnership with the United Kingdom Forensic Science Regulator.

Inspectors have also highlighted the need for FSNI to maintain and continue its efforts to develop a more customer-focused way of working which Inspectors see as crucial to the future success of the Agency.
