NPM publishes annual report into UK detention

The National Preventive Mechanism has today published its third annual report on detention in the UK. 

The NPM which is made up of 18 bodies including CJI  was established in 2009 by Government to meet its UN treat obligations regarding the treatment of anyone held in any form of custody.  The report highlights key joint areas of work undertaken during the year on the use of force and restraint, escorts and lay monitors.  To view the report please click on the link.
